Today was a day where we thought we had it all planned out beautifully. Unfortunately, the universe did not agree. Isabella and I should have known by now that we have to roll with the waves on this trip (we continuously learned this almost every day of our adventure). We started off by having breakfast at Di Zucchero in Condado. This was an accidental find for us that ended up being a real treat. I ordered strawberry pancakes which were so delicious. They were flaky and had a cinnamon flavor which was a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, I would rate them a 7.5/10. I loved how my meal was artfully presented and the restaurant itself had a cute interior. After our meal, we attempted to Uber to Old San Juan. This was an unsuccessful attempt because the roads were closed due to Festival Capital which was celebrating San Jaun’s 500-year anniversary. I wish that we were able to join in on the celebrations, but it just was not in the cards for us. Instead, we returned to Condado and went to the beach. When life gives you lemons, you go to the beach.
After the beach, Isabella and I got ready to go to dinner. We ate at Wicked Lily and I ordered the Crab Ricotta Gnocchi (yellow pepper beurre blanc, burnt onion powder, parmesan cheese) for $25.00. I also ordered the drink Fresh 69 (rosemary infused gin, blue curacao, bubbles, lime) for $12.99. My gnocchi were good and filling but a little oily and pricey. I did enjoy my drink. The selling point of this restaurant were the stunning oceanfront views. I would definitely recommend eating here at least once. Our experience was incredibly breezy so make sure to plan accordingly; I would recommend avoiding short and flowy dresses/skirts.
Isabella and I ended our day by having a night in at our Airbnb to prepare for the next day when we had our first scheduled excursion.
