Two Bahama Mamas coming in HOT - 11.13.22

Today we docked in Nassau, Bahamas. Before we left the cruise ship, I had two hard boiled eggs, cantaloupe, grapefruit, and watermelon for breakfast. Jordana and I walked around the island, saw the beach, went shopping, and watched a parade. We enjoyed shopping/bargaining at the open markets with locals. The majority of the locals were friendly, but they were also a little overwhelming and pushy. I was able to get myself and my loved ones souvenirs in the market for reasonable prices. We went to some higher end stores as well where I tried on an 18k diamond Gucci ring that cost just under $4,000. It was a stunning ring. Lastly, we stumbled across a parade that had bands playing music, boy scouts, girl scouts, and military personnel. I enjoyed being a part of their special celebration, even if I did not know what exactly was going on.

After, Jordana and I headed back to the cruise ship and got lunch. I had one chicken taco and two pork tacos (cheese, lettuce, salsa verde, tomato) and watermelon. We then took a nap on a daybed in the adults only section. We napped for a little and were woken up by a rainstorm. We quickly fled the open deck and went to get a snack at the covered buffet. I had cucumbers and mashed potatoes. After, we went to check out the free massage tester which was happening at the spa. This was a total sham, we waited over an hour and the session was mostly informative. I would only recommend this if you are looking to score a discount on your massage. For dinner, we were able to eat at the restaurant closer to our room which we ended up liking the service here increasingly more. I had frog legs, provencal herb butter (garlic brioche), country fried chicken (cheddar mash, pickle slaw, gravy), and baked Alaska (ice cream cake, meringue). My food was good and I was surprised that I actually liked the frog legs. During our dinner service, the staff performed a farewell song as this was our last night. It was super touching! After we ate, we went back to the “lobby” for drinks and a musical performance. This was a lively performance put on by the cruise director. Everyone had so much fun singing along and watching the dramatic performance. We enjoyed the rest of our night by catching a different comedy’s show and dancing all night long!

Overall, the cruise offered lots of fun activities, good food, and the service was wonderful. We had an attentive floor manager who always greeted us by name as we passed in the hallway. Our room was cleaned daily and the creative towel folding always put a smile on my face. We also went to a few other activities on the boat that I forgot to mention since the days all seem to blur together such as watching an ice carver perform and participating in music trivia. It has been 15 years since I have last been on a cruise and I really enjoyed going as an adult. Fortunately, I have two more cruises booked in the upcoming year and I look forward to them immensely. This cruise was a tester for how I should go about blogging them and I have some ideas that will hopefully assist me with documenting my upcoming ones. Stay tuned for more exotic travels, you won’t want to miss what is in store.
