Good afternoon from the bus! I did not have any breakfast today because I did not like what the hotel was offering and I did not want another granola bar. We began the day by taking a bus to Art of Living Ashram. The campus was massive with huge beautiful buildings. There was everything you would need; stores, food, temples, a hospital, a school, and neighborhoods. The founder's face was everywhere. We did some sightseeing and mediation. I also went into one of the gift shops and got a comic book. We all loaded back onto the bus to continue our sightseeing and that is the moment when a girl from our group informed me that this was a cult (yes, a cult). Once she said that to me, it all made sense. The place gave off bad vibes and there were many signs. The school only accepted boys age 9 and the boys could study there for free for 7 years. They wore white cloth and did many chants. Overall, I just wanted to get out of this place. We then took the bus up a narrow mountain which I thought we were going to die on. We finished up our tour and went to lunch. I had a small amount of white rice because they HEAVILY stressed the importance of not wasting food. They kept a chart of how much food waste they had per day and how many people that waste could have fed. I was extremely happy when we got back on our bus to leave. We then continued on our journey to Mysore. The whole journey to Mysore was about 4 hours and we took a break at a KFC. I had popcorn chicken (kind of spicy) and fries. I also stopped at an ice cream hut like shop and got some chocolate ice cream to go. On the bus we had lots of fun dance parties to Indian and American music. We were standing in the aisle, singing and dancing. When we arrived in Mysore from Bangalore, our hotel was slightly nicer and had an enclosed shower. We quickly freshened up and went back down to the lobby to get henna tattoos. We had dinner at a rooftop restaurant that gave me far too large of a portion of chicken and fried rice. The food was nice and I was very excited to take my enclosed shower and get some rest.
