Temple Run - 08.12.19

Hello from Hampi! This morning I had two hard boiled eggs and cantaloupe which was complimentary from the hotel. After breakfast, Gabs and I went back to our room to freshen up and then when we got back into the elevator to leave it did not move. We got out of the elevator and had to walk down four flights of stairs in the dark. Once we made it out of the hotel, we headed to our guided sightseeing tour of various temples and ruins. The drive was extremely urban. Throughout this entire trip, I have not worn a seatbelt once and today was no exception. The ride on the minibus was a little wild but worthwhile for the beautiful sights we saw. Some of the sights we saw included Queens Bath Temple, Lotus Temple, Virupaksha Temple, and Mustard Seed Ganesha Temple. It got to be a little much but it was beautiful nonetheless. For lunch I had a lemon and mint juice that looked like a green smoothie but tasted much better, vegetable fried rice, and french fries. At the restaurant, we sat on cushions on the floor on the rooftop of a building. After my meal, I laid down on the cushions and took a quick nap. Post lunch and nap, we continued with our temple run. At one of the temples I was able to bargain with a street seller. I bargained a medium size elephant figurine down to 250 rupees from the original 600 rupees. Our next temple had some scary climbing but stunning views. I felt like the queen of the world. On the way down I saw a dead (thankfully) giant millipede. We also saw lots of monkeys at this particular sight. For each and every stop that the bus driver took, he would turn the air conditioning on minutes after we got in the bus. It was extremely hot and humid. We eventually made it back to the hotel and I was able to freshen up and shower. Post relaxing time, a group of us went out searching for alcohol. Unfortunately, it was the evening of a holiday and we were unable to buy any alcohol. However, we did stumble across a small convenience store where I bought apple juice, bracelets, and pins. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and ordered room service. I ordered a toasted tomato and cheese sandwich but they forgot my tomato. It was pretty decent but it did hurt my stomach a little.
