I would like to thank everyone who has read through my India diary series. I journaled each day of the trip and wrote down my experiences. Just under a year after the trip I decided to turn those notebook pages into blog posts. I am glad to share my knowledge and adventures with you all. This trip would not have had been possible without all of the people behind the scenes making it work.
Firstly I must acknowledge and thank, The Graham Innovation Scholar Program at York College of Pennsylvania. The program believes in creating an extraordinary life. The program funds for students to travel abroad which is how the majority of my trip was paid for (as well as for Gabs). Without the generous donations from Mr. Donald Graham, I would have never dreamed this trip possible. I worked closely with a few of the program leaders to get this trip planned out smoothly. I would especially like to thank Dr. David Fyfe for helping me plan a smooth trip which included flights, visas, and travel knowledge.
Secondly I must acknowledge and thank, SLV.Global. This incredible brand focuses on global mental health. My experience focused on knowledge and immersing myself in culture. Without SLV.Global I would have never had the opportunities I was given. They planned our lodging, transportation, dining, activities, and connections. Everything was planned flawlessly and our team was incredible. A special shoutout to Lakshmikanth, Ravi, Megna, and Mamatha who made the two weeks entertaining and put up with all of my questions and fears. I highly recommend using this company, they also have programs that travel to Bali, Europe, Sri Lanka, and Java.
Third I must acknowledge and thank, my travel buddy Gabs. Gabs was by my side the entire trip and kept me sane. She helped me keep it together and motivated me to stay energized and engaged. She was my rock and I am so thankful that I was able to share this experience with her. I love her dearly and she is an incredibly kind and wonderful person.
Fourth I must acknowledge and thank, The Daniels Family. The Daniels Family is a family from my church who graciously cooked a traditional Indian meal for me and my family before I left. They introduced me to the culture as well as answered my questions and gave me their input from their many travels to India. It was extremely helpful and appreciated.
Lastly, I just want to thank all of my friends and family who supported me on my first trip to Asia. There was a lot of planning, preparing, and praying involved. I am very grateful for all of those who gave me the confidence to travel. I hope that from my stories and experiences I can give that confidence to others to depart happily.
Namaste.
