February 2021
Our half day in Epcot began with taking lots of photos and admiring all of the amazing pieces of art since we went during Festival of the Arts. This year Festival of the Arts (or FARTS) was held between January 8th and February 22nd. As you can see from the photos below, everything was filled with color! It is hard for me to pick which Disney Festival is my favorite but Festival of the Arts will always hold a special piece of my heart since it was the first Disney Festival that I ever attended.
My boyfriend Ryan and I decided to skip all of the rides this time at Epcot and fully give our focus to the Festival! One way that we did this was by leaving our mark on the Paint-by-Number Mural. Being able to help add to the mural was something that I have not had the pleasure of doing before and I really enjoyed being a part of something much larger than myself. The next way we did this was by going through the countries and enjoying the Festival cuisine.
We of course started off in the country of Mexico (this is clearly the superior way). I cannot go through Mexico without getting a margarita so that is exactly what I did next. I went to Choza de Margarita to get my favorite item, the Fiesta Margarita which is a frozen combination of the flavors Classic Lime, Wild Strawberry, and Mango Loco for $12.75. Ryan went to get a Mexican Craft Beer (Tulum Artisanal Lager crafted with Citrus notes and made with Mexican Caribbean Seawater) at the El Artista Hambriento booth. While we enjoyed our drinks off to the side by ourselves, a few of the princess rode by which was really spectacular to see.
From Mexico we got our next drink in Norway, the Troll Kreme Spiked Slushy located at the Norway Beer Cart. We shared this drink which came in a souvenir cup and cost $17.00. The drink contained Cranberry Flavoring and Dragon Berry Rum with Vanilla Whipped Cream Topping. We both enjoyed this sweet treat, I felt that it tasted like cotton candy!
Next we went to Italy for their Amaretto Bellini (Amaretto, White Peach Puree, and Prosecco) located at the L'arte Di Mangiare booth. At this booth we also got L'Aragosta (Lobster Ravioli with Vanilla-Saffron Cream Sauce and Shredded Chili Peppers) to share between the two of us. We loved our drinks and the raviolis! In each place that we got drinks/food we made sure to indulge away from others to be as covid cautious as possible.
Post Italy, we heard beautiful Mariachi melodies walking past the America Gardens Theatre in The American Adventure. We then stopped in Japan at the Goshiki booth for their Sushi Donut (Donut-shaped Sushi featuring Salmon, Tuna, Shrimp, Cucumber, and Sesame Seed over a decorated plate of Wasabi Aioli, Sriracha, and Eel Sauce). I was super excited for this because I love sushi and it did not disappoint!
After Japan we made our way through the rest of the countries stopping in France to check out the new area that is home to Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. I cannot wait for this ride to open! After France, we stopped in the United Kingdom to say hello to Mary Poppins who was doing distanced photo ops in the garden. Once we made it to Canada, Ryan got a Moosehead Beer.
From Canada, we went back to The World Showplace Events Pavilion (between Canada and the United Kingdom) to get Remy's Ratatouille (with Eggplant, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Tomatoes, and Red Pepper Piperade). Ryan got 3 Daughters Strawberry Blonde Nitro (St. Petersburg, FL) to drink and I got Pinord La Dama Reserva Familiar Brut Rose (Spain) to drink. While we enjoyed our drinks and food, we watched a very talented painter transform a blank canvas into a masterpiece within 15 minutes. Once the artist was finished, we decided that we were done with our day and ready to get on the Skyliner to go back to our resort.
