Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Many years back, my family discovered this wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant in the heart of Downtown Bethlehem. Mexico Lindo is located on Bethlehem's Main Street just a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle. It has been my favorite lesser known place ever since our first visit. The food is the best Mexican food that I have ever had and it has just the right amount of spice! I cannot say enough positive praises about Mexico Lindo's cuisine!
If I had to point out a few negatives over the several times I have visited, I would say that occasionally the server is not as attentive as I would hope they would be. However, majority of the time, there is only one server who is balancing tables and the front counter. From experience, I can assure you that doing both of those things is no easy task. Another notable negative would be that on a few occasions, the restaurant was closed upon arrival at midday. These times of unexpected closure have been extremely disappointing but they have not stopped us from coming back time and time again. From these disappointing experiences, we have learned to call ahead to avoid the possible random closures. Lastly, my family did order take away one time and our order was incorrect. However, in the restaurant's defense, we did order on Cinco de Mayo which is potentially one of their busiest days of the year. While we have occasionally had minor negative experiences, these experiences occur infrequently and over several of years. I have never had one complaint about the quality of the food with the exception of slightly too spicy salsa. Once again though, the slightly too spicy salsa is so delicious that I cannot even resist to stop from eating more of it.
Now that you have seen Mexico Lindo's business from my prospective, let me invite you to journey along with me as I reminisce on my most recent visit. On my last visit, I went with my mother, her coworker, and my sister. We went for Taco Tuesday, where you can get 2 hard shell tacos for $3 or 3 flour tortilla tacos for $5. We each got the 3 for $5 with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and cheese (except my sister who got hers without cheese). For my order of tacos, I got a side of sour cream. Aside from the tacos, we were served a basket of chips and two salsas - green and red. The chips and salsas were mouth watering per usual! We also like to use any of the leftover salsa as extra toppings for our tacos, nothing goes to waste at our table! I brought my own bottled water with me since Mexico Lindo switched from serving glasses of water to bottled water (I believe that this was COVID influenced). From experience, I have learned that the chips and salsa usually make it to your table before your water does which is another reason why I do not mind bringing my own water to ensure I can handle the salsa's kick before all of the chips disappear. On the other hand, my mom and her coworker ordered bottled water from the restaurant and my sister ordered a lime Mexican soda. We all greatly enjoyed our food and had an overall pleasant visit!
Some of my other favorites from Mexico Lindo include the chicken fajitas (there is a special deal on Thursdays) and the chicken quesadillas. The menu extends to include burritos, huaraches, seafood, sopes, soup, and tostadas. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. If you are in the neighborhood, I highly recommend checking out this charming spot either in person or through takeout. I can promise that you will leave Mexico Lindo more than satisfy.
