Melbourne, Florida

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

After about a month of being completely consumed by Disney, work and living, I needed a small get away. I escaped the Disney bubble for a few days with my boyfriend Ryan who was visiting me and staying with his friend Matt in Orlando. Fortunately for us, Matt's parents live in Melbourne and were extremely generous and let us spend a night and go on a ride on their boat. Ryan's good friend Will and his girlfriend Abby, who both recently moved to Orlando, joined us in for the fun. We saw manatees and dolphins while we were on the boat ride. We had a really nice time getting to all hang out together. We even got to see a beautiful sunrise the next morning. It was nice to disconnect from work and the Disney bubble so many of us get trapped in, even if it is just for 24 hours. The Disney bubble is not a bad thing, it just is nice to be reminded that there is life outside of Disney. After a beautiful sunrise, we ate at a cute little restaurant on the beach. You simply cannot beat breakfast with a view. While I enjoy the West Coast of Florida more so than the East Coast, I really liked Melbourne. I am looking forward to going back again one day!
