Me, a Princess? Shut Up! - 06.12.24

Heather and I woke up, had breakfast at her house (avocado on sour dough with over easy eggs and tomatoes and a peach), and drove over to the city of San Francisco. Our first stop of the day was at Fisherman's Wharf, where we went to Pier 39 to walk around, browse the shops, and see the hundreds of sun-basking sea lions. I was obsessed with the sea lions; they are so fascinating! From the Wharf, we walked over to Ghirardelli Square. At Ghirardelli Square, we browsed the shops and stopped to eat at their chocolate shop where I had the Mini Hot Fudge Sundae which was so good! After our sweet treat, we continued on with our sightseeing to the Golden Gate Bridge. We parked near Crissy Field and walked along the beach where the views were stunning, but the wind was strong. From here we drove to the "high school" steps used in the movie The Princess Diaries to take pictures. The location is actually a residential home, not a high school, so we made sure to be respectful of the space while quietly fangirling. Next, we went to see the Painted Ladies which is featured in the theme song for the TV show Full House and can be seen in the movie The Princess Diaries. Heather and I took a break in the park to admire the Painted Ladies, the colorful houses, and ate berries before returning to the car to drive past the Full House, house. We continued driving until we stopped to see a fountain with a Yoda statue on it, which was something I found in the area while looking at the map. This ended up being Lucasfilm Headquarters, which was super cool to walk around if you are a fan like me. We took pictures in the lobby with the memorabilia from Star Wars and other movies such as Indiana Jones. From this campus, we walked over to the Palace of Fine Arts which looked like we were transported into ancient Greece. The architecture was beautiful and massive. Heather and I felt like we found a hidden gem between Lucasfilm Headquarters and the Palace. Once we finished looking around, we drove over to Lands End, the lookout, not store. The vibes here were good but it was very windy, so we did not stay long. To end out our SF day, we got food at Ocean Beach Cafe which is one of the world's first non-alcoholic bars. We didn't know that when we picked the location, we just saw that they had sandwiches and good reviews. We shared the Hummus Plate (house-made hummus, avocado, pickled onion, tortilla chips) for $12 and the Roast Beef Sandwich (Devil's Teeth sourdough, cheese, slaw, arugula, chef sauce, chips) for $16. The food and environment were great, and I am so glad that we found ourselves at this little spot. When Heather and I got back to her house, we went on a walk with her neighbor, had rockfish that Heather's dad caught which Heather cooked for us along with pasta, watched The Princess Diaries (naturally), and went to bed by 10:45 PM as I had an early flight to catch the following morning... San Fran you were good to me, San Diego I will see you bright and early.
