June 2017, April 2019, & July 2019

Fortunately, I have been able to visit Longwood Gardens on several different occasions. In June of 2017, I went with my boyfriend, Ryan. In April of 2019, I went with my mom, sister, and Ryan. In July of 2019, I went again with Ryan. I have enjoyed all of my visits to Longwood Gardens! Longwood is a beautiful American botanical garden. There are over 1,100 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows. The different gardens include:

There are so many stunning gardens, exhibits, and shows to see! I highly recommend wearing supportive walking shoes such as sneakers. Another recommendation I have is to avoid attending on extremely hot days, or if you do decide to visit on an extremely hot day, drink lots of fluids such as water to stay hydrated. Lastly, I recommend dining at their restaurants. Longwood offers two dining experiences one at 1906 and one at The Cafe & Beer Garden. 1906 has prix fixe lunch and dinner, on the pricier side - I have not gone to either before. The Cafe & Beer Garden has an a la carte menu that is suitable for the entire family. This is where I have ate at before and everytime has been delicious! Longwood has Certified Green Restaurants which means many things. They use:

  • Local Food Sources

  • Compostable Dishware, Cups, and Bottles

  • Recycling

  • Efficient Lighting

  • Natural Materials

  • Sustainable Furniture

  • “Green” Upholstery

  • Eco-friendly Flooring

Overall, Longwood Gardens is a wonderful place to spend the day with your loved ones! There is plenty to see and do for all ages, all year long! Longwood promotes sustainability and practices it in many ways. Longwood Gardens is a leader in horticulture excellence and values the arts and education. Not only is Longwood Gardens a beautiful place but a place that promotes beautiful missions and initiatives.
