Journey to the Jungle - 08.14.19

I made it through the night. I decided to be cautious of what I put into my body today. I started with two hard boiled eggs. We had a long day of travel ahead of us, we were going to Chikmagalur by bus for 8+ hours. The bus ride was anything but smooth. Many of us felt ill during the journey. I was being thrown around in the backseat, it was very bumpy and wild driving. We stopped at a KFC/Dominos (two separate restaurants but down the street from each other) for lunch. I got a small seven-up for lunch and finished it, that's how you know that I was pretty sick since I do not drink soda. While we were driving there were frequent roaming cows in the road. It reminded me of Moo Moo Meadows from Mario Kart. We finally arrived at our gorgeous mountain/jungle villas. It was quite a sight! We quickly moved our luggage into our rooms and loaded back onto the mini bus. We took almost a hour drive into the town. We then got a free hour to shop around the market. We looked at different shops and I got tea, coffee, and wine. We then ventured back to our villas where we had dinner. We were served a variety of Indian foods, I had rice, chicken, pasta, sauces/curry, tomatoes, and cucumbers. It was all very delicious and not too terribly spicy. After dinner, I went back to the room and took a shower. The shower had no separation from the rest of the bathroom. However, the water pressure and temperature were redeeming qualities. I found an extremely large and hairy spider that crawled out of a hole in the wall of the bathroom. We stared at each other for a few minutes and then the spider crawled back into the hole and was never to be seen again. It was frightening but I survived and went to bed soon after.
