I went back to San Diego - 06.14.24

Today was our San Diego Day! We started off by going to Hotel Del Coronado which opened in 1888 and has been host to celebrities, royalty, U.S. Presidents, and countless beach loving guests. This was a stunning hotel with several different stay options, dining, shopping, and activities. It also was one of the hotels that inspired Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. After Hannah and I finished wandering around the hotel, we drove to Old Town to get lunch and shop. Hannah and I visited Old Town San Diego during my last California trip, but I think that it’s a true gem and I was excited to go back. The area features acres of Mexican heritage, historical sites, colorful shops, electric restaurants, a theater, and more! During our last visit to Old Town, we ordered food from Cafe Coyote to go, and it was so good that I had to come back again for more this trip. This time we ate at the restaurant, and I ordered the Carne Asada Tacos (two corn tortillas filled with chopped carne asada, topped with guacamole and salsa fresca) for $18.95 and a Coyote Fruit Margarita (strawberry) for $13.95. We were served complimentary chips and salsa with our meals as well. Once we were well fed, we shopped around at the many stores. We spent our evening at Solaris Beer and Blending, a craft brewery taproom and music venue. We went with Hannah’s then boyfriend but now fiancé (yay, congratulations!) and their roommate/friend and we listened to multiple live bands. I tried the Purple Flowers (sour ale with tart cherry, blueberry, lavender, and Madagascar vanilla beans) at 8.0% and the Pink Noise (raspberry seltzer) at 5.5%. I had an enjoyable time listening to different genres of music, trying some local brews, and spending time with my friends - it was the perfect way to end another busy day.
