I'm in Miami - 11.09.22

My friend Jordana and I flew into Miami, Florida the night before we set sail on a cruise to the Bahamas. We stayed at The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club. This is a funky-chic location featuring four bars, two pools, and two restaurants. Unfortunately, during our visit we were unable to fully enjoy the amenities due to poor weather conditions. However, we arrived just in time for their complimentary Happy Hour which features free gin and vodka drinks between 6 and 7 PM. Jordana and I enjoyed this fun and warm welcome. After Happy Hour, we walked around Miami and did a little shopping before we decided to get food. We ate at Wilde on the Porch which is a New American restaurant and bar located in the heart of South Beach. I ordered chicken tacos for $18, and they were disappointing. I found my tacos to be bland, overpriced, and they did not fill me up. We left hungry and went to Maxine’s Bistro and Bar in our hotel. I ordered a Mahi Mahi sandwich (blackened Mahi Mahi, tomatoes, avocado, arugula, and aioli sauce) with French fries for $16.00. This time, my meal was delicious, and I loved every bite of it! After we ate, we went back to our room to get ready for a night out on the town. The bartender at our hotel recommended going to Mango’s Tropical Cafe South Beach. This restaurant/nightclub did not disappoint with its cocktails, Latin music, and entertainment. I had a fun time, and I enjoyed the lively atmosphere. If I am ever back in Miami, I will definitely be stopping here.
