Harpoons on the Bay is a local family favorite. The atmosphere is high energy and lively. Harpoons is located across from the bay and is the only waterfront restaurant in this specific bay area! At Harpoons you will find live music, a sandy area with yard games and picnic benches, as well as seafood and American cuisine. Harpoons is also known for their wide variety of craft beers and cocktails. While Harpoons is a family friendly atmosphere, I would definitely say that the later it gets the crowd leans more on the adult side for the drinks and live music.
During my visit in September, I had the Pan-Seared Salmon pictured in the middle photo of the first row (Fresh Salmon Fillet, Pan Seared and Topped with Pesto Creme, Served with Grilled Roma Tomato, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus). It was priced at $19.95 and I would rate it a 10 out of 10. I thought that every aspect was delicious and well cooked. I would absolutely order this meal again! My sister had the Salmon & Spinach Salad pictured in the left photo of the first row (Fresh Spinach with Grilled Salmon, Pickled Onions, Macadamia Nuts, Yellow Pear Tomatoes & Champagne Vinaigrette). It was priced at $17.75 and she rated it an 8 out of 10. She said that the flavors were kind of dry and the tomatoes were very acidic, however, she did not use the champagne vinaigrette which may have helped to balance out the flavors and make it less dry. My mother had the Seasonal Salad with Grilled Salmon pictured on the right photo of the first row (Mixed Greens, Cucumber, Julienne Carrots, Red Onion, Tomatoes, House-Made Croutons, and Grilled Salmon with Ranch Dressing). It was priced at $16.50 and she rated it 9 out of 10. She said that she liked it and would order it again. My mother also had a strawberry daiquiri and I had a margarita. We both enjoyed our drinks.
Overall, my family loves to come to Harpoons on the Bay each year. I have been several of times before with my family and friends. We find the prices to be reasonable and the food to be high quality. The staff is also friendly and efficient. However, do be warned that you may face a hefty wait time but during that time you can go to the bar, play with their lawn games, or take a walk along the shore. Personally, we have never had a problem with the long wait times because we find ways to keep ourselves entertained. The earlier you arrive, the less your wait may be. As the night progresses, the wait can go over a hour easily. With all that in mind, I would still highly recommend going to Harpoons on the Bay!
