Gardens and Jungles - 08.06.19

I started my day off with a 7:30 AM yoga session that kicked my butt. It was extremely exhausting and intense. Afterwards, I had mainly just cantaloupe for breakfast followed by a granola bar (a real one this time) back in my room as I packed. Next we had a session about the theoretical and practical aspects of yoga. This session was both learning and also doing different types of yoga. I thought that I was done with yoga for the day after the morning session, but boy was I WRONG. I was just as sweaty from this session as I was in the morning. Post session, I had white rice, cauliflower that tasted like chicken, bread that was potato chip like, and watermelon. After lunch we moved out of The Ancient School of Wisdom and traveled by bus to Bangalore. The bus was pretty nice and had air conditioning but we still drove like we were in New York City. I saw all sorts of beautiful views of India on the bus as well as lots of different wildlife including a large monkey on one of the streets. One thing that I have noticed around India is that there were little to no trash cans which I found very odd. After we checked into our hotel, I went to explore the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens with Gabs, Anna, and Clara. We had a very nice time together. The Gardens were near the hotel and I was able to see a beautiful temple, which was up a very dangerous hill. We saw lots of beautiful flower displays and a giant lake. We soon headed back and got ready for dinner We walked 30 minutes to get to a fancy hotel where our dinner was. The restaurant was on the 5th floor so we took an elevator up and it opened to an Indiana Jones movie like set from the jungle scenes. It was quite intense looking. I ordered cheese stuffed naan (amazing, would order daily), nizaami murgh (chucks of boneless chicken prepared in a combination of saffron and tomato gravy - was not my favorite, kind of spicy), sizzler brownie (walnut brownie served on hot sizzler topped with ice cream and choco sauce - really good except the bottom of it was on top of a slice of pineapple), and a mojito. It was a nice dinner, when we got back to the hotel I took my first hot shower of the trip. I was finally able to shave and sleep in a comfy bed.
