Falling In Love with Texas - 12.02.22

Today was the big day, Kevin and Melanie were getting married! Avery, three of his friends, and I went together to pick up Avery’s suit from Men’s Warehouse. Afterwards, we ate lunch together at Whataburger. This was my first visit, and I had a Whataburger (large bun, large beef patty, American cheese, tomato, lettuce), fries, and a drink. I also tried their chicken tenders with ranch. All I can say after my meal is wow, what a burger! The burger was large and tasty. The chicken tenders were also good. I don’t know if I would frequent here but it was definitely a positive experience.

We quickly got ready for the wedding and drove over to the venue which was in a rural location. In front of the venue building there was a farm with Texas Longhorn cattle (this was on my trip bucket list, to see Texas Longhorns in Texas). The venue was rustic barn chic with exposed wood and bright whites. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The ceremony took place behind the venue outside; the landscape was stunning, and it featured a pond with a fountain. While this was my first time meeting the couple of honor, I still cried during the touching ceremony and later again during the toasts. Everything was beautiful. There was a large table that had a variety of appetizers during the cocktail hour. The wedding also had an open bar and a DJ. We were all served the same pasta entree and side salad which were very good. The music was bumping all night long with mostly Spanish music, which I loved. This was such a fun wedding filled with an abundance of love.

After the wedding ended, we stopped at Buc-ee’s on our way back to our hotel (when in Rome or I suppose Texas). Avery and I went on a Buc-ee’s souvenir shopping spree and bought a Buc-ee’s Christmas blanket and a Buc-ee’s Christmas ornament. Buc-ee’s was definitely an unexpected highlight for us.

Overall, we enjoyed our time in Katy and in the morning Avery and I would be switching cities for our last day in Texas.
