Flying to Paris - 08.02.19

Today was the day, Gabs and I left for the adventure of a lifetime. We began our journey at JFK International Airport. While we checked in our luggage, we were quickly informed that we could not bring aerosol cans. We had to open up our luggage in front of everyone and remove our bug spray and dry shampoo (RIP). Luckily, Gab's dad was still in the airport and was able to take our illegal items home. We then went through security into Terminal 1 Gate 5A. We stopped for some food and drinks while we waited out the two hours until our departure. Finally, we began to board our double decker flight, it was by far the nicest plane I've been on. We were served dinner (pasta, cheese, cheesecake, and wine) and breakfast (muffin and orange juice). The food was tasty, the cheesecake was my favorite. We had tv on the chair in front of us and I was able to watch some movies, listen to music, and sleep. The plane had mood lighting for the night time comfort, light blue fading into darkness and darkness fading into light blue. The funny thing about flying AirFrance is that mostly everyone is French. The captain would give instructions in French first, then English. My not so bright American self quite loudly said I cannot understand what they are saying a little too loud which offended the people next to me which made a quiet flight. The flight attendants gave us departure candy, which I loved. Parting thoughts, Gordon Ramsay should do a show on airplane food. Au revoir.
