Down by the Bay

Updated: Sep 28, 2020

North Cape May, New Jersey

I have been very fortunate to have always had a place to call home at the Cape May Bay. Either home from my parents or my grandparents. Cape May has been a part of my life since birth and it is a big part of all of my family's lives. It is a gorgeous area and it has always been my happy place. I love the ocean and I believe that it truly does have healing properties. My earliest memories by the bay include digging for sand snails in the muddy sand. I would be covered head to toe in muddy sand after a day of playing at the bay. My recent memories include Fourth of July fireworks on the bay, cool morning walks, and warm sunsets. Cape May has the prettiest sunsets. My family and I also enjoy watching the boats and ferries go by. We like to walk out on the jetty and soak in the view. My mom, sister, and I enjoy finding seashells and the occasional piece of seaglass. We have seen small sharks, stingray, and fish wash up along the shore. We have seen crabs and horseshoe crabs. If you're going to Cape May, the bay is a great place to unwind from the hussle and bussle from summer tourism.
