Day 4 in Massachusetts - Welcome to the Tea Party

Massachusetts

October 2020

On our second day exploring the city, we made sure to better dress ourselves for the walking and weather. Hannah and I wore more supportive footwear and Hannah wore a warmer jacket. We were ready to take on our last full day and we started off by going to Fenway Park. We walked around the stadium and passed by themed stores and restaurants. From Fenway we took the train over to the New England Aquarium. At the New England Aquarium we were able to see the Atlantic Harbor Seals in their outside exhibit. From the Aquarium we went to the Seaport District and went over to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. We went into the gift shop where we all bought some goodies for our friends and family. We had a nice time wandering around and finding ourselves in small parks and art exhibits on our way in between our desired destinations. In total, we walked 8.5 miles on this day. Between both days in the city, we walked over 20 miles! We headed home before dinner and we were able to eat all of our meals that day at home to save money. I am so thankful to Katie and her family for being such kind hosts! Katie was an excellent tour guide and gave us the full Massachusetts experience!

We ended our trip with a celebration at Jake n JOES Sports Grille in Woburn, Massachusetts. Hannah and I were feeling brave and tried new cocktails that we thought would be tasty but we were very wrong about. Hannah ordered a drink named On To 2021 (Bacardi Coconut, Luxardo, Prima Perla Prosecco, cherry fruitations, fresh lemon and lime juice, simple syrup) for $9.50. I ordered a drink named Just Relax (Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint, St. Germaine, green chartreuse, fresh muddled cucumbers and mint, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup) for $11.00. We would rate them both 0/10 and for our next round we ordered much better drinks. Alexa and Katie ordered the same drink named Sparkling Pink Sangria (New Amsterdam Pink Whitney, Stella Rosa Moscato, fresh muddled raspberries, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup) for $10.00 each. Hannah ordered the Sparkling Pink Sangria as her second drink. Alexa had the same drink for her second drink. I had the Blueberry Noir as my second drink (Smirnoff Blueberry, Deloach Pinot Noir, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, blueberry monin) for $8.00. The Blueberry Noir was delicious and I was very pleased with it! We also ordered Mozzarella Sticks (marinara dip) for $7.00 and Farmer’s Market Flatbread (cauliflower flatbread crust, roasted butternut squash, crumbled goat cheese, chopped sage, sliced red onion, balsamic glaze, mesclun greens) for $13.00. Both of our appetizers were delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed them! The atmosphere at Jake n JOES was fun and we felt very spaced out and safe inside. I would definitely come back to Jake n JOES in the future! We order some cocktails to go to finish off our last night celebrations.

The next morning Hannah flew out early to go back to California and Alexa and I took the train in the mid morning to head back to New Jersey. I am so glad that I was able to have this small reunion with a few of my close friends and I look forward to our next get together!
