August 2021
My sister and I got to Disney's Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon, after leaving Disney's Animal Kingdom and completing a quick outfit change back at our resort. We walked down Main Street and felt the Disney Magic between the fall décor and Cinderella's Castle. We took some time and had a full photo shoot together on Main Street, at the Castle, and by the Wishing Well.
After we were satisfied with our photos, we went to Fantasyland. We rode on Mad Tea Party, which I got dizzy on. I was disappointed that I got dizzy and I do not know if I should contribute this to old age or to a busy day. Next, we went into Tomorrowland where we went on PeopleMover and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. We also saw a show at Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which is a personal favorite of mine.
After our brief time in Tomorrowland, we met up with my friends Kayla and Hannah. We all headed down Main Street, U.S.A. together to go to our dinner reservations at Tony's Town Square Restaurant. Even though we had a reservation, it took about 30 minutes for us to be sat. When we finally were sat, we were served bread and oil. We then ordered Fried Mozzarella (herb-marinated fresh mozzarella with creamy tomato sauce) as our shared antipasti for $12.00. The fried mozzarella was very delicious! I enjoyed dipping the complimentary bread into the creamy tomato sauce from the fried mozzarella. For dinner my sister ordered the Scampi Pasta (freshly made linguine pasta, shrimp, mussels, spinach, tomatoes, and onions in herb-butter sauce) for $27.00. She especially liked the sauce and thought that it was worth the price. For dinner my friend Hannah ordered the Chicken Parmigiana (lightly-breaded chicken breast with provolone and Tony's marinara sauce over spaghetti) for $26.00. She thought that her meal was really good and worth the price. She did also note that she was extremely hungry and that she enjoyed the bread. For dinner my friend Kayla ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Shrimp for $27.00. She said that she has had better pasta and bread before, she did enjoy the shrimp but she would not come to eat here again. For dinner I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Shrimp for $27.00 and a Wine Cocktail (Bellini by canella with prosecco, peach juice, and drops of wild raspberry) for $11.00. I thought that my meal was slightly better than Olive Garden even though it was served a little cold. I also thought that my meal was not seasoned enough. I did however really enjoy my wine cocktail, especially since it had fruit pieces in it. Overall, I am happy that I tried a new restaurant but it was not my first pick of restaurants to go to. I would not mind coming back and giving Tony's Town Square Restaurant another try but it would not be my first pick and I do not think that it is anything special. Perhaps your thoughts may be different, I hope that you will give Tony's a chance to find out for yourself if you enjoy the restaurant.
Once we paid our bills, we rushed out of Tony's and went down Main Street as Happily Ever After had already began! I did not plan for our dinner to have delays which in turn sadly delayed our arrival to the fireworks. Thankfully, we still were able to catch a portion of the show and we quickly squeezed in a little shopping at the Emporium.
As Happily Ever After ended, so did our night. We began our journey home by taking the monorail to the parking lot, then Hannah drove my sister and I back to our resort. Our Day 1 was long but filled with lots of magic and it left me excited for another Disney filled day.
