D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc.

Pottsville, Pennsylvania

May 2021

D. G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest operating brewing company in America, established in 1829. Ryan and I started our visit off with a tour, the tours are free and run every hour on the hour. The tour lasted for about one hour and we were able to see multiple levels of the brewery (yes, this does mean that you have to be able to go up some steep staircases). The tour covered Yuengling's rich history and brewing process. At the end of the tour we were given two free samples each of whichever beer we wanted to try. I tried Raging Eagle and Flight and Ryan tried Raging Eagle and Porter. To me, Flight tasted like nothing and Raging Eagle did not have enough of the mango flavor. Ryan enjoyed his beers especially Raging Eagle. We had a fun time trying new beers and taking lots of photos as you can see below. After our sampling, we went to the giftshop and did some major damage. Ryan bought me a crewneck sweater and he got himself a bottle koozie, can koozie, hat, hoodie, pint glass, and of course a case of beer. We finished off our trip by visiting the food truck parked across the street from the main building. The food truck, Mr. E Eatz, was delicious! I had the Quesadilla Wrap (Grilled Chicken, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Salsa, and Sour Cream) for $6.00 and Ryan had the Cow in a Blanket Wrap (Burger with Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Mayonnaise) for $6.00. We both enjoyed our wraps and I would even go as far to say that they were the perfect way to WRAP up our day.

Overall, I think that Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania is a well worthwhile trip! The tour through the cavern brewery was educational and unique, I have never done anything like it before. Take the day and visit America's Oldest Brewery, you will not regret it!

P.S. I cannot wait to continue my Yuengling Brewery Adventure at their Florida location next!
