Croc Encounters

Tampa, Florida

December 2017

I stumbled across this wildlife park a few years back while on a family vacation in Florida. My family and I were visiting my grandfather who lives in Tampa. The one day we decided we wanted to try something new and came across Croc Encounters. Croc Encounters has guided tours, close-up encounters with a variety of reptiles, and is educational! At Croc Encounters you can see crocodiles, snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, and amphibians. On our visit, we went for Self Guided Saturday. We had an up-close and personal look at the park which included alligator and crocodile ponds, a live feeding encounter, and a hands-on live animal encounter. Our admission was $13 per person and this included admission, a photo opportunity holding a small alligator, and feeding a turtle/tortoise (make sure you check out their website for a coupon - if they still have it).

Overall, we really enjoyed our visit! We had a lot of fun seeing the animals and getting to interact with them. Croc Encounters focuses on being a haven for unwanted reptiles and an educational facility. From what I could see, it looked like the animals were being well cared for. It seemed that the staff genuinely care about the animals and fought against the stigmas associated with them. I would recommend this place to people of all ages and I would visit again!
