Adios Miami - 11.10.22

Jordana and I spent our morning wandering around Miami, looking for a good breakfast spot. We went with Joe & the Juice which is a Danish chain of juice bars and coffee shops with locations all around the world. The inside of the shop was cute, and I enjoyed the variety of healthy food options. I ordered a Power Shake (banana, ice, strawberries, vanilla milk) and I split a Tunacado (avocado, Joe’s classic bread, tomato, tuna, and vegan pesto) with Jordana. This meal not only tasted incredible, but it also made my body feel incredible. After we ate, we took a quick walk on the beach, which was gorgeous. We then headed back to our hotel to gather up our things and catch a Lyft/Uber to the cruise ship port.

Our boarding process went smoothly, with the exception that we had about an hour to wait before we could physically get onto the ship due to prior weather delays. Once on the ship, we had to wait another hour to be allowed into our rooms. In the meantime, Jordana and I completed our safety tasks by meeting at our designated location and going over the procedures. Afterwards, we went to the Lido Deck for the buffet, and I made myself a salad and I also had some jambalaya, mac and cheese, and steak. After we ate, we finally were allowed to go to our room to settle in. We then explored around the boat and got familiar with the layout. My favorite spot were the day beds in the adults only section. We relaxed and enjoyed ourselves with a few drinks. When it was time for dinner, we signed in with our designated location and we were put in a virtual queue. Once we were notified that our table was ready, we headed over. There were two dining locations, and we were assigned the one that was on the opposite side of the boat from our room. We struggled to find this location every night. For dinner, I had a Caesar salad (house made dressing, parmesan), grilled mahi mahi (pumpkin and okra stew, tomato relish), and the Carnival melting chocolate cake. My food was good, nothing too over or under whelming. After dinner, we caught part of the movie, Jurassic World Dominion, which was playing on the Lido deck under the stars. We sprawled out on the lounge chairs and wrapped ourselves up in warm towels. We ended our night after this, too tired to continue on with the endless activities that were offered. Overall, this was a decent introduction to what our next few days would look like; filled with various activities, cocktails, food, and sunshine.
