A Day in Disney's Animal Kingdom

On this day I went to visit Animal Kingdom with my coworker Torey. This was my first time coming to Animal Kingdom as a guest during my DCP instead of an employee. Throughout our day, we were able to meet Pocahontas and Meeko (who does not always come out) and Turk (who also does not always come out). We were super happy that we were able to meet some of the more rare characters! We then went on Kilimanjaro Safaris, saw the Festival of the Lion King, took the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, saw It's Tough to be a Bug!, went on the Na'vi River Journey, and went on Avatar Flight of Passage. This was my first time seeing the Festival of the Lion King and I loved the show, it was super entertaining! It was also my first time going to Rafiki's Planet Watch which was a really unique experience! The Animation Experience at Conservation Station was amazing! It was a thirty minute group class that taught everyone how to draw a Disney character, for the session I attended we drew Ed from The Lion King. He was not the character I was hoping to learn but it was still a fun experience! I look forward to coming back to this on my future visits. After our drawing lesson, we went to the small petting zoo. Rafiki's Planet Watch is a great area for all family members especially the younger ones.

Torey and I were very lucky to snag fastpasses for Avatar Flight of Passage. It was my first time on the ride and with the fast passes, we barely had a wait! I loved the ride! It was not like any other ride I have been on before, I would caution that you may get a little bit of motion sickness. I felt slightly sick by motion during the ride but it was short enough that I was fine. I would highly recommend watching the movie before going on the ride, it makes it that much more meaningful. Another ride hack that I would recommend is to go on Kilimanjaro Safaris right when the sun is setting. The darker the better if you would like a chance to the lions awake.

At the end of the day, Torey and I caught the River of Light: We Are One show. It was my first time watching the show and I thought it was cute. After the show, Torey and I booked it to Na'vi River Journey. We made it in line just in time before they cut it off for the end of the night. We had about a thirty minute wait but it was way longer during the day. The ride was nice and relaxing (again, I recommend watching the movie first). At the end of the day, I was exhausted but I did have a really fun time!
